所以,膽固醇真的愈低愈好嗎?最新研究發現,低密度膽固醇(LDL)低於70mg/dl的女人,比LDL指數在100-130mg/dl間的女人,得出血性中風的比例要高了一倍。
壓低膽固醇指數真有比較好嗎?比如,一個宣稱能降低低密度膽固醇60%的藥物,它卻完全沒有降低心血管疾病的死亡率。事實上,多年來積極降低膽固醇的努力,並沒有換來較低的心血管疾病死亡率。研究發現,天天吃降膽固醇藥物的人平均只比不吃藥的人多活了四天。可是,這類藥物的副作用卻很少被提及。
